How to Turn on Camera Access for ÉVO® Ripeness Scanner

Turn on Camera Access

ÉVO® Hass Ripeness Scanner requires access to your phone’s camera to scan and measure avocado ripeness. If camera access is turned off, the app will not be able to perform scans.

If you accidentally selected “Don’t Allow”, you can enable camera access anytime in your phone settings by following the steps below.


Steps to Allow Camera Access

Google Chrome (iOS)

  1. Close the current tab
  2.  Scan the QR code again
  3.  Tap Allow when prompted

Google Chrome (Android)

  1. Open the web app in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three dots (⋮) in the top right (Android) or bottom right (iOS).
  3. Select Settings > Site Settings (on Android) or Content Settings (on iOS).
  4. Tap Camera.
  5. Look for the URL of the web app under the Blocked section.
  6. Tap the site and select Allow (or “Clear & Reset” to get the prompt to pop up again

Firefox (iOS)

  1. Open your iPhone Settings
  2.  Scroll down and tap Apps
  3.  Scroll to find Firefox and tap on it
  4.  Under permissions, toggle Camera on
  5.  Scan the QR code again

Firefox (Android)

  1. Tap the three dots (⋮) or the menu icon
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Scroll down to Site permissions
  4. Tap Camera
  5. Switch the setting to Ask to allow
  6. Go back to the web app and refresh. You should see a new pop-up; make sure to hit Allow

Safari (iOS)

  1. On the “Camera Needed” screen, tap the icon on the left side of the navigation bar (beside the URL)
  2. Tap the (…) icon in the top-right corner
  3. Scroll down to Camera, tap it, and change the setting from Deny to Allow
  4. Close the tab
  5. Scan the QR code again

Samsung Internet (Android)

  1. Open the browser and tap the three horizontal lines (≡) in the bottom right corner
  2. Tap Settings > Sites and downloads
  3. Tap Site permissions
  4. Ensure the Camera toggle is turned On
  5. If it’s already on, tap the word “Camera” to see a list of specific sites and make sure your web app isn’t set to “Blocked.”

If the camera still doesn’t work

Try the following:

1. Close and reopen ÉVO® Hass Ripeness Scanner

2. Restart your phone

3. Ensure no other apps are currently using the camera
